The Kebbi State Government has taken a significant step to enhance security in the state by donating six Hilux vehicles and 30 motorcycles to the military. This gesture, made by Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, underscores his administration's unwavering commitment to supporting the security agencies in their efforts to combat banditry and maintain peace in the state.
The vehicles and motorcycles were handed over to Colonel Hussaini Rabi’u Toro of the 8 Division Tactical Command at Government House, Birnin Kebbi. Governor Idris reiterated his administration's pledge to provide sustained logistics support to the military, ensuring they have the necessary resources to effectively carry out their duties. "We will continue to provide logistics support to our military, as ensuring the safety and security of our people remains a top priority of my administration," he said.
The Governor commended the Army for its swift response to distress calls, noting that this demonstrates dedication to duty. He also expressed gratitude to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff for deploying armoured vehicles to Kebbi. "Our people confirm that anytime they call on the Army, you respond without hesitation, which shows dedication to your duty," he added.
Colonel Hussaini Rabi’u Toro thanked the Governor for the generous donation, which he said would enhance the Army's operational capacity and response to threats against lives and property. "The Army appreciates this support, which will enable us to better serve the people of Kebbi State," he said.
The donation is part of the Kebbi State Government's ongoing efforts to strengthen security in the state. Under Governor Idris' leadership, the government has previously provided extensive support to security agencies, including over 100 Hilux vehicles and 1,000 motorcycles to vigilantes across the state.
