"50,000-Hectare Rice Project: Tiamin Rice Commits to Job Creation, Community Development in Toro"

Tiamin Rice Processing Company, one of Nigeria's leading rice producers, has pledged to create jobs and implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The company is set to launch a 50,000-hectare rice project in the area, which is expected to boost rice production and improve the livelihoods of local communities.

The Group Managing Director of Tiamin Rice Company Limited, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed, represented by Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa, said the company is awaiting a directive from the federal government to commence agricultural activities on the allocated land. "His Excellency, the Governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, out of his visionary leadership invited us to Bauchi not only to set up a rice processing plant but also to set up a farm from which we would produce the rice that we will mill," Inuwa said.

The General Manager of Tiamin Rice, Alhaji Abubakar Bala Giade, reaffirmed the company's commitment to producing high-quality rice that meets international standards while promoting community welfare through robust CSR initiatives. "Tiamin Rice is built on a foundation of quality, innovation, and community service. Our goal is not just to feed the nation with premium rice but also to empower local communities through job creation, infrastructure development, and social investment," Giade said.

The company has pledged to focus on education, healthcare, and local infrastructure development as part of its CSR strategy. Giade added that Tiamin Rice is exploring avenues for youth and women empowerment through agricultural training, entrepreneurship, and skill acquisition to reduce unemployment and boost local productivity.

The Executive Chairman of Toro Local Government Area, Pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo, commended Tiamin Rice for its track record in quality production and social investment. He assured the company of the community's cooperation and necessary support in running its activities. Dembo also requested social services such as the construction of a school, hospital, and access road to help the community socialize and provide transport.

"We are ready to provide all necessary support to ensure the success of this partnership. The people of Toro are peaceful and welcoming, and we guarantee you full security and cooperation as you consider setting up a semi-processing facility in our area," Dembo said.

The meeting was attended by the Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, the District Head of Lame, security chiefs, religious and community leaders, and other key stakeholders from Toro Local Government Area.
