Residents of Bara and surrounding areas have extended their heartfelt appreciation to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for greenlighting the 38-kilometer Bara-Hashidu-Tabule-Garin Malam Jule-Wanka road project. This sentiment was echoed by Alhaji Muhammadu Abdullahi, the village head of Bara, who lauded the Governor's dedication to bridging the rural-urban divide.
During a recent courtesy visit by a team of assessors from the Bauchi Ministry of Works and Transport, Abdullahi highlighted the transformative impact of the road project on the lives of thousands of residents. "This infrastructure development is a game-changer for our region, unlocking economic and social opportunities that will propel growth and development," he stated, according to a press release issued by Mrs. Aishatu Bamai, Information Officer at the Ministry.
The traditional leader reaffirmed the community's unwavering support for the contractors and the Ministry, emphasizing the need for a collaborative effort to ensure the project's timely completion. He urged the assessment team to expedite their evaluation process, enabling the contractors to finalize the project.
Quantity Surveyor Mustapha B. Yaya, Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics at the Ministry of Works and Transport, responded on behalf of the assessment team, expressing gratitude for the community's warm hospitality and cooperation. "Our evaluation of the final phase of the Bara-Wanka road project has been impressive, with notable progress made so far," Yaya said.
He underscored that the initiative embodies Governor Bala Mohammed's vision for inclusive and sustainable infrastructure development, particularly in rural areas that have long been underserved. The assessment team's visit demonstrates the government's commitment to executing projects to the highest standards, ensuring that local communities reap the benefits.
