Receiving Stolen Property: Kebbi Police Arrest Two

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a case of receiving stolen property in Birnin Kebbi. The suspects, Hamidu Bagudu and Abdullahi Aliyu, were arrested following a credible lead after a store belonging to Architect Usman Wasagu was burgled on September 9, 2025, and seven power tiller machines worth N3,150,000 were stolen.

According to the police, the suspects confessed to receiving the stolen items from one Usman Inyamu, who is still at large. They alleged that Usman sold the stolen items to Abdullahi Aliyu for N1,840,000, out of which N250,000 was recovered as exhibits. The police have also recovered all seven stolen tiller machines from the suspects.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani, commended the professionalism and prompt response exhibited by the DPO Birnin Kebbi and his men. "We will not relent in our efforts to rid Kebbi State of all forms of violent crimes," he said. The CP directed the DPO Birnin Kebbi to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
CP Bello M Sani emphasized the importance of accurate and timely information from members of the public in making Kebbi State unhabitable for criminal elements. The police command is determined to ensure justice is served and the suspects are prosecuted accordingly.
