The Kogi State Police Command has recovered arms, ammunition, and arrested a suspect in two separate operations. According to a press release signed by SP William Ovye Aya, Police Public Relations Officer, the operatives attached to Okene division arrested a 23-year-old woman, Charity Williams, and recovered one locally made Beretta pistol, six rounds of 9mm live ammunition, hard drugs, an axe, and four phones.

The arrest was made following an intelligence tip-off that a suspected criminal was hiding at Yuwander Lodge in Oguda village, Okene. Upon searching one of the rooms booked by Christopher Kadiri, the police found the exhibits and arrested Charity Williams. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect at large, while investigation is underway.

In another development, the operatives attached to Ofu Division recovered one locally made barrel gun at Ogbakpedo village along Itobe-Ayingba road. This followed a tip-off that some persons suspected to be kidnappers were sighted in the bush. Upon arrival, the suspects fled, leaving behind the gun, a cutlass, and a Tecno phone.
The Commissioner of Police, Miller G. Dantawaye, PSC, commended the officers for their dedication to duty and reaffirmed his commitment to fighting criminality in the state. "The police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of lives and property in Kogi State," he said.

The police command urged citizens to continue providing useful information that would aid their efforts in combating crime and ensuring public safety.
