The Chief Launcher and Hon. Commissioner for Finance, Kebbi State, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Muhammad, donated a brand-new school bus and purchased five copies of the school calendar at the rate of Two million naira during the Ummah Academy Nursery, Primary, and Secondary School's school calendar launch, Walima, and graduation ceremony, showcasing significant support for education.
Held at the school premises in Makera Gandu, Birnin Kebbi, the ceremony celebrated the graduation of SS 3, JSS 3, and Primary 5 students, for whom a Walima was organized by the school management in collaboration with the PTA.
The Chief Launcher, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Muhammad, stated, "I call on the co-launchers to also donate generously and not to mind what I have donated; in fact, I want people to donate more than what I have donated, please." He emphasized the importance of supporting education, saying, "Donation to education, both western and Islamic knowledge, is Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu's top priority. As one of his cabinet members, we are emulating our God-choosing Governor. As the chief launcher, I am calling on everyone to donate generously to this Ummah Academy, which is serving as a community school, not as a public or private school."
The Chief Launcher expressed pride in the students' and teachers' performance, noting, "I was impressed with the students' and teachers' performance because some of their students represented the northwest zone in an essay competition in Lagos, where they won medal awards, which we are very proud of."
Earlier, the Chairman of the PTA, Alhaji Ahmadu Rufa'I Aminu (ESQ), stated, "The aim of organizing the launch of the school calendar and Walima for the graduating students is to enable the school management to secure funding to build additional blocks of classrooms, an ICT JAMB Centre, and acquire a school bus. All this cannot be achieved without organizing this launch."
Dr. M. M. Abubakar, Ameer NIC Kebbi State Chapter, solicited continued support, saying, "We are in need of more blocks of classrooms, staff offices, an ICT JAMB Centre, and a school bus to ease student transportation, among other things. I, therefore, solicit the support of everybody, including non-governmental organizations."
The event was attended by notable personalities, including Hon. Commissioner for Finance Alhaji Abubakar Chika Muhammad, Representative of the Commissioner for Religious Affairs Arc. Sani Aliyu, Permanent Secretary Government House Alhaji Dahiru Zaki, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity Alhaji Yahaya Sarki, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Revenue Jega, among others.
On behalf of the school management and the entire staff and teachers of Ummah Academy Nursery, Primary, and Secondary School, gratitude was expressed to everyone who graced the occasion, with prayers for their safe return to their destinations.
