Bauchi, Bauchi State, Nigeria - August 25, 2025(Series News Online)
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi Local Government Area, Hon. Aminu Mohammed Danmaliki, has thrown his weight behind Senator Shehu Buba Umar's bid for the governorship seat in the 2027 general elections. Danmaliki, a former Commissioner of Information and traditional titleholder of Danmalikin Bauchi, made this known at a mammoth endorsement rally held at the Metropolitan Event Centre on Sunday.
According to Danmaliki, Senator Shehu Buba's achievements in just two years in office are a testament to his capability to lead the state. He cited the senator's sponsorship of 500 students at Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences, Bauchi, where he serves as proprietor. "We are here today to endorse Senator Shehu Buba Umar for the governorship seat in 2027 because he has shown himself to be a leader who cares about the welfare of the people," Danmaliki said.
The APC Bauchi Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Sunusi Biyali, also spoke at the event, highlighting the senator's contributions to the state, including the distribution of 122 truckloads of rice, which helped stabilize prices in the market. He also accused the state government of hoarding fertilizer meant for farmers, saying, "The state government is more interested in self-serving politics than in the welfare of the people."
The endorsement motion was moved by Hon. Aminu Mohammed and seconded by APC leaders from various districts in Bauchi. The event was attended by several notable APC members, including Hon. Abdul Hamid Rufa'i, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammed, and Alhaji Rabi’u Abubakar Bishi.
Danmaliki urged eligible voters to verify their names on the voters' register and prepare for the polls, stressing the need for unity to defeat the ruling PDP and emerging opposition groups. "We will ensure inclusiveness in governance if Senator Shehu Buba emerges victorious," he said.
