Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State - Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has advised the people of Kebbi to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in all upcoming elections, stating that the state will not become an opposition enclave.
Governor Idris made this call during a visit to the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, where he was met with a massive turnout of supporters from Shiyar Fada/Junju. "My request to you is to elect APC from top-to-bottom, in all elections, to enjoy the dividends of democracy, Kebbi will not be an opposition state," he said.
The governor expressed gratitude to the people of shiryar Fada/Junju for their massive support, which he said had put to rest rumors about the APC losing support in the areas. "This has put to rest, insinuations and rumours about the APC losing support in the ward," he added.
Governor Idris also highlighted his administration's commitment to the welfare of youths and women. "My slogan is, 'Work and Progress, help people', soon, I will implement a big empowerment programme for youths and women unprecedented in the history of Kebbi," he said.
The APC Shiyar Fada/Junju Chairman, Nasiru Aliyu, assured the governor of the areas unwavering support for the APC. "No any member followed suit, we remain 100% intact APC members, with full support to Governor Nasir Idris," he said.
The governor's entourage included several dignitaries, who expressed their unflinching support and loyalty to the administration. They also advised the governor not to listen to gossipers and backbiters.
As a gesture of goodwill, Governor Idris donated N10 million each to youths and women groups, while the Elders and Leaders combined received N5 million.
