The President of the Nineteen Seventeen Northern Consensus Movement of Nigeria, Dr. Awwal Aliyu Abdullahi, has commended the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for his dedication to enhancing security in Nigeria. In a statement signed and made available to newsmen, Dr. Awwal praised General Oluyede's efforts in addressing security challenges in the country.

Dr. Awwal commended the COAS's visit to Benue State, where he personally oversaw military operations aimed at restoring peace in the state. "The COAS's visit to Benue State is a testament to his proactive approach to addressing security challenges," Dr. Awwal said. "He met with field commanders to discuss strategies and boost morale and visit affected communities to reassure residents of the Army's commitment to their safety."

The Northern Consensus Movement of Nigeria applauded General Oluyede's efforts to curb insecurity in Nigeria. Dr. Awwal noted that under General Oluyede's leadership, the Nigerian Army has made significant contributions to enhancing security capacity, infrastructure, training, equipping, and administration. "The Nigerian Army, under General Oluyede's leadership, indicates aggressive development, behavioural, and tactical change in the fight against insecurity," Dr. Awwal said.

Dr. Awwal commended General Oluyede for establishing stronger Civil-Military Cooperation, inter-agencies, and inter-governmental engagement. "The COAS being a professional officer and a combatant soldier has established stronger Civil-Military Cooperation, inter-agencies, and inter-governmental engagement, out of his belief that in synergy with all stakeholders and cooperation using both kinetic and non-kinetic mechanisms it will be much easier to nip crime and criminalities in Nigeria," Dr. Awwal said.

The Northern Consensus Movement of Nigeria urged all citizens to support the COAS and the Nigerian Army in their quest to restore peace and security. Dr. Awwal emphasized the importance of civic responsibility in supporting the military and security agencies. "As citizens, our civic responsibility is to consistently support the COAS, the Nigerian Army, and the Armed Forces for success," Dr. Awwal said.
