Birnin Kebbi, June 13, 2025 – A total of 413 Kebbi pilgrims and six officials, including Governor Dr. Nasir Idris, have safely landed at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi. The pilgrims were conveyed on Flynas flight XY9006, which departed Jeddah at 09:45 hours Saudi time and landed in Kebbi at exactly 2:10 pm.

The VIPs on board included the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida; Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad; and the governor's two wives, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris and Nafisa Nasiru Idris. The pilgrims are from Shanga, Suru, and Koko-Besse Local Government Areas.

The airport was filled with state APC leadership and other leaders from across the 21 LGAs, as well as supporters, family, friends, and well-wishers, who crowded in to welcome the governor and the pilgrims back home after spending 30 days in the holy land performing this year's Hajj.

"We are glad to have safely returned home after a spiritually enriching experience in the holy land," Governor Dr. Nasir Idris said as he stepped out of the plane. "We thank Almighty Allah for His mercy and blessings, and we appreciate the efforts of all those who worked tirelessly to ensure our safe return."

The governor and the pilgrims were warmly received at the airport, with traditional rulers, government officials, and other dignitaries in attendance to welcome them back home. The successful return of the pilgrims marks the end of a 30-day spiritual journey, and they are expected to be welcomed back into their communities with celebrations.
