"New Members Welcome, But Leadership Remains - ADC Kebbi"

The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State, Engr. Bala Sufiyanu, has stated that the party welcomes new defectors from other parties but will not relinquish its leadership positions to them.

Sufiyanu made this statement while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, following an arrangement to receive massive defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

"I wish to formally inform the general public and party stakeholders that the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kebbi State Chapter, warmly welcomes the entry of new members into our great party," Sufiyanu said. "However, we must make it categorically clear that we will never concede our constitutionally recognized leadership positions for any newcomer to assume control of the party's leadership in Kebbi State."

The ADC Chairman affirmed that there was no agreement, formal or informal, that mandated him or any member of the current leadership structure to vacate their positions. "As the duly elected State Chairman of the ADC in Kebbi State, I affirm that I remain the legitimate and constitutional Chairman of the ADC in Kebbi State," he said.

Sufiyanu reiterated the party's commitment to winning all positions in the 2027 General Elections in the state, expressing confidence in the party's preparedness and efforts. "We continue to receive expressions of interest from individuals and groups across different sectors who are eager to join the ADC, and we welcome them wholeheartedly," he said. "However, our existing and duly established State leadership structure remains intact and will not be dismantled or compromised for any reason."

The ADC Chairman's statement underscores the party's determination to maintain its leadership structure and identity, even as it welcomes new members and defectors from other parties.
