"Makkah Bound: Kebbi Delegation Addresses Pilgrims' Feeding Concerns"

The Kebbi State government delegation, led by Alhaji Haruna Iliyasu Bashar, has engaged with the feeding contractor responsible for providing meals to the state's pilgrims in Makkah. The meeting was held in response to concerns raised by the pilgrims regarding the quantity, quality, and variety of food provided.

The Secretary of the Feeding Committee, Alhaji Isah Assalafi, formally tabled the concerns of the pilgrims, stating that while the quality of food was good, there were issues with quantity, occasional shortages, feeding times, and a lack of variety. "The quality of food is good, but our pilgrims have observed some issues with the quantity, occasional shortages, feeding times, and a lack of variety. As officials, we have also documented these concerns, and that's why we are here," he said.

The contractor, Mousa Hami, promised to address the concerns and assured the delegation that the quantity of food would be increased beyond the current allocation. He emphasized the importance of proper documentation and verification of supplies.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Alhaji Haruna Iliyasu Bashar reaffirmed the delegation's commitment to ensuring the smooth conduct of the Hajj. "The Governor sent us to ensure the smooth conduct of the Hajj. We are his eyes and ears here. His Excellency, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has done his part, it is now our responsibility to ensure justice is done to our pilgrims," he said.

Alhaji Isah Assalafi expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting, describing the concerns as observations that the contractor had humbly accepted. He assured the pilgrims that the adjustments would soon be visible through increased portions and improved quality. "We are satisfied with the outcome, and we believe that the adjustments will soon be visible to our pilgrims," he said.

The delegation's efforts are aimed at ensuring that the pilgrims have a smooth and fulfilling experience during the Hajj. As Alhaji Haruna Iliyasu Bashar noted, "The Governor has done his part, it is now our responsibility to ensure justice is done to our pilgrims."
