The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has flagged off the Kauran Gwandu door to door Movement, a program aimed at empowering 3000 less privileged women in the state with cash grants.

At the program's flag-off ceremony on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi, organized by Ma'u Waziri Charity Foundation, the First Lady urged beneficiaries to utilize the cash grants effectively to boost their businesses and achieve self-reliance. "I want to advise you to use the funds properly to support yourselves and your families," she said. "Engaging in small-scale businesses will go a long way in enhancing your economic well-being."

The Founder of Ma'u Waziri Charity Foundation, Hajiya Asma'u Waziri, stated that the empowerment program is an initiative aimed at improving the living standards of less privileged women in society. "This program complements the policies and programs of Governor Nasir Idris in the state," she said. "We are empowering 3,000 less privileged women with ₦20,000 startup capital each. We urge well-to-do individuals, particularly political appointees, to emulate the governor's efforts."

The ceremony featured the presentation of ₦20,000 cash to each beneficiary. The First Lady's initiative is seen as a significant step towards promoting economic empowerment and self-reliance among women in Kebbi State.
