The Zone 10 Police Headquarters, Sokoto, has directed the Commissioners of Police in Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states to ensure the protection of lives and properties before, during, and after the Easter celebrations. This move is aimed at maintaining peace and security in the zone.
According to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 10, Gyogon Augustine Grimah, the police have made adequate security arrangements to guarantee smooth and hitch-free celebrations. "We have directed the three Commissioners of Police to emplace adequate security measures that will ensure the protection of lives and properties," AIG Grimah stated.
"Intelligence gathering apparatus of the zone has also been directed to actively generate actionable intelligence that could assist in mitigating any form of threats," the AIG said.
"AIG Grimah wishes the Christian brethren a happy Good Friday and Easter celebrations, and enjoined them to seize the moment and pray for continued peaceful coexistence in the zone and beyond. "said DSP Uthman Muhammad Yaqub, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer.
The police zone's proactive measures are expected to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable Easter celebration for Christians in Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states.
