The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, and Governor Bala Mohammed have pledged to strengthen security and safeguard the lives and property of residents across the state. During his maiden press conference, CP Aliyu emphasized his commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, maintaining law and order, and enforcing modern policing standards in line with global best practices.
"The objective of modern policing is not just about crime control but about reinforcing public trust and confidence," CP Aliyu said. "Our strategy will be driven by integrated intelligence-led community policing, which goes beyond traditional law enforcement to embrace human security and developmental services, supported by professional expertise and strong community partnerships."
CP Aliyu assured that his administration would implement proactive, preventive, and reactive approaches to policing, guided by intelligence at strategic, operational, and tactical levels. He also warned officers against misconduct, stating that discipline, professionalism, and ethical conduct would be non-negotiable under his command.
In a separate development, Governor Bala Mohammed reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the welfare of security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force. During a courtesy visit to the Government House, Bauchi, Mohammed welcomed the new Commissioner and assured him of maximum support and cooperation.
"We are committed to partnering with all security agencies in the fight against banditry and other criminal activities," Mohammed said. He commended the outgoing Commissioner, Auwal Musa Mohammed, for his selfless service and significant contributions to the peace and development of the state.
The outgoing Commissioner, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) and reassigned to Zone 3, Yola, expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve in Bauchi State. The new Commissioner, CP Sani Omolori Aliyu, acknowledged Governor Bala's immense support and contributions to the Nigeria Police Force.
CP Aliyu stated that their policing efforts would focus on actionable intelligence and practical crime prevention. "We will provide the necessary guidance and motivation to our personnel to ensure optimal performance, within the resources available," he said. "By the grace of Almighty Allah, we will confront and overcome all emerging security challenges in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."
