Kebbi Governor Pledges to Uphold Religious Values in Governance

The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has assured that his administration will prioritize religious values in governance, emphasizing that faith is the foundation of societal peace and prosperity. He made this remark when combined followers of Tijjaniyya and Qadiriyya Movements paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Nasir Idris stated, "I'll use Religion as basic foundation for justice and fairness in governance. I shall continue to place priority on Religious Matters and involving the Ulama of different creeds in the onerous task of leadership." He also emphasized the importance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, saying it is "to serve all adherents of Religious Faiths without preference."

The Governor expressed appreciation for the support of the Tijjaniyya and Qadiriyya Dariqa movements, saying, "Your fervent prayers brought me here as Governor, because GOD is the Ultimate Giver of Power, and He Has answered your prayers." He assured the group that he will continue to stand for justice and give every individual and segment of the state equal rights and privileges.

Governor Nasir Idris also announced the appointment of a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Religious Matters from among the Tijjaniyya and Qadiriyya leaders, saying, "Forward his name immediately to the SSG who will give him an appointment letter instantaneous."

The Team Leader of the joint Tijjaniyya and Qadiriyya Dariqa movements, Mallam Suleiman Sarkin Gabas, affirmed their support and loyalty to Governor Nasir Idris, pledging to sustain prayers for his success in steering the affairs of the state. He requested fair engagement and active participation of members of the Tijjaniyya and Qadiriyya in the affairs and operations of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The Commissioner in the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Arc. Sani Aliyu, and the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Engr. Imrana bn Usman, explained the activities and policy direction of the Ministry, assuring that necessary consideration and fairness are always employed in the appointment and activities of the Ministry for followers of Izala and Dariqa without favoritism.
