"Kebbi First Lady Attends Pre-Wedding Ceremony of 50 Female Orphans, Donates ₦5 Million"

The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has demonstrated her commitment to the welfare of vulnerable individuals in her community. She attended the pre-wedding ceremony (walima) of 50 female orphans in Dakingari, Suru Local Government Area, and donated ₦5 million to support the brides.

The event, held at the local government secretariat, was a momentous occasion for the young women. Hajiya Zainab Nasare emphasized the importance of patience, tolerance, and effective communication in building strong relationships. "As you embark on this new journey, remember that marriage is a beautiful institution that requires effort, commitment, and dedication from both partners," she advised. "Always prioritize open communication, empathy, and compromise. Be each other's support system, and work together to build a loving and peaceful home."

The First Lady also encouraged the brides to uphold their religious values and principles, reminding them of their greater responsibility as role models and guardians of their faith. "Now that you are married, you are not only wives, but also mothers, and future leaders in your communities. Remember to always uphold the tenets of your faith, and be guided by the principles of compassion, justice, and kindness."

Other notable attendees included Hajiya Aisha Bello Kaoje, wife of the Federal House of Assembly Member representing Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency. She emphasized the importance of loyalty, honesty, and forgiveness in marriages, stating, "As you begin your new lives, remember to always prioritize your families, support your husbands, and nurture your children. Be pillars of strength for one another, and never allow a third party to undermine your relationships." Hajiya Aisha Bello Kaoje also donated ₦50,000 to each bride, along with a bedspread.

The wife of the local government chairman thanked the First Lady for her kindness and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the present administration's policies and programs aimed at improving the livelihood of the people in the state.

This event is part of a larger initiative to empower vulnerable individuals in Kebbi State. The First Lady has previously been recognized for her philanthropic efforts, including being honored at the International Women Power Conference 2024.
