The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, has flagged off the distribution of essential food items worth N75 million to over 3,000 vulnerable households across the Lokoja emirate council. The distribution, carried out through the Isah Kutepa Foundation, aims to provide relief to those in need during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Maigari expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and Chief Executive of Isah Kutepa Foundation, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Kutepa, for the gesture. He urged the Hakimis to justify the confidence reposed in them by ensuring that the items reach the vulnerable persons and the needy. "You must justify the confidence reposed in you by making sure the items get to the vulnerable persons and the needy," he said.

The monarch also called on affluent members of society to emulate the Isah Kutepa Foundation as a trusted channel for their philanthropic endeavors. He emphasized the importance of feeding the needy during Ramadan, citing the Prophetic teachings: "The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the virtue of feeding others, stating 'The best of you are those who feed others'".

The items distributed include rice, beans, millet, guinea-corn, sugar, groundnut oil, and spaghetti. This initiative is a significant step towards alleviating the hardships faced by vulnerable households in the Lokoja emirate council.
