El-Rufai, Again?

The saying goes: if you live in a glass house, don't throw stones. This idiom rings particularly true for Nigerian politicians, who often engage in labeling and mudslinging, only to cry foul when they're on the receiving end.

Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai is one such politician. Known for his vocal and staunch criticism, El-Rufai is a formidable debater with a unique oratory style. His recent Arise TV interview showcased his dissatisfaction with Tinubu's administration, his ordeal with the National Security Adviser, and his relationship with his successor, Governor Uba Sani.

But what's behind El-Rufai's sudden change of heart? During the 2023 General Election, he campaigned tirelessly for Uba Sani, declaring his support for Tinubu, Uba, and Kashim. Now, he seems to be seeking revenge in 2027.

To understand El-Rufai's motivations, let's examine his past. In 2023, he installed Uba Sani as his successor, tasking him with building on his "legacy" of creating a "New Kaduna state." However, Uba Sani's investigation into the financial activities of El-Rufai's administration has led to allegations of embezzlement and mismanagement.
