A mega rally in support of the Kauran Gwandu-led administration in Kebbi State is scheduled to take place on February 19, 2025, at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi. The rally, organized by the "WE STAND WITH KAURA" platform, aims to appreciate the governor's commitment to democracy, good governance, and his unprecedented record of achievements in the state.
According to Alhaji Abubakar Bagudu Dallatun Kalgo, who represented Hon. Bello Kaoje, Chairman of the Publicity Committee and member representing Suru/Bagudo federal constituency, the rally will showcase the administration's inclusiveness. This inclusiveness has brought all strata of society together, living peacefully with one another. Dallatun Kalgo addressed journalists at the Correspondent Chapel in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, announcing the rally's details.
The committee also praised the governor's benevolent commitment to public service, citing his implementation of the new minimum wage for workers in the country. The Kauran Gwandu-led administration has recorded significant developmental strides in various sectors, including public infrastructure, educational upliftment, healthcare delivery, social services, youth empowerment, and creation of sustainable investments.
Some notable achievements of the administration include the construction of a 6.5-kilometer road in Gwandu, valued at N565.74 million, and the implementation of various programs under the KADAGE Agricultural Development Policy. These programs have improved the state's agricultural sector. The administration has also renovated schools, provided instructional materials, and paid scholarships to students in tertiary institutions. Additionally, it has provided medical treatment to patients with mental health problems, renovated general hospitals, and provided modern health facilities.
Kebbi State is known for its rich agricultural land and has been a major producer of crops such as rice, maize, and soybeans. The rally is expected to attract participants from the 21 local government areas of the state and other unions. The Publicity Committee has urged all attendees to be law-abiding and orderly during the event. Security agencies will be present to oversee proceedings.
The event is scheduled to commence at 10:00 am on February 19, 2025. Governor Kauran Gwandu, also known as Dr. Nasir Idris, has been at the helm of Kebbi State's government since May 29, 2023. His administration has been praised for its efforts in promoting online entrepreneurship among youth and strengthening the state's agricultural sector.
