The 4th edition of the Rigatta culture festival, currently underway in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, has featured an exciting Agric show and competition. The event includes various competitions such as goats butchering within 15 minutes, chicken butchering within 5 minutes, and sewing of garment within 15 minutes. The festival also showcases an array of agric products, including tomatoes, maize, guinea corn, potatoes, fish, onions, vegetables, and okoro. Additionally, some farming tools, such as a poultry machine made by one of the farmers from Yauri, are on display.
Important dignitaries present at the festival include the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi; MD HYPPADEC Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa; Kebbi State Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida; House Representatives member representing Suru/Bagudo, Hon. Bello Kaoje; and State Minister Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu. To ensure adequate security, heavy security operatives have been deployed in strategic locations. Currently, the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi, and other dignitaries are inspecting the agric products showcase in each of the shades.
According to the organizers, winners will emerge from each category and will be presented with prizes and trophies on the final day of the festival, February 15, 2025. An Agric show display competition was also held, where a committee assessed farm products and selected the best ones as winners.
The Rigatta culture festival, which attracts people from across the states and beyond, is being held under the patronage of the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi. Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, Chairman of the Main Committee for the 2025 Rigatta culture festival and Kebbi State Secretary to the State Government (SSG), is overseeing the events. Each event has its own committee responsible for organizing and supervising the activities.
