NUJ Kebbi Council Felicitates with Newly Elected Correspondents Chapel Executives

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kebbi State Council has congratulated the newly elected executives of the Correspondents Chapel, urging them to uphold the principles of the union.

According to Ismail Adebayo, the NUJ Kebbi State Council Secretary, "the council commends the immediate past executives of the chapel for a successful tenure and conducting a peaceful and transparent election."

Adebayo, who signed the congratulatory message on behalf of the state chairman and the entire council, noted that "we are proud of the achievements of the outgoing executives and we commend them for their dedication to the union."

The Correspondents Chapel, during its election held under the supervision of the NUJ state council on Tuesday, elected Kabiru Wurma of Leadership Newspaper as chairman. Other executives elected unopposed include Olanrewaju Lawal of the Sun Newspaper as Secretary, Aminu Umar of Legacy Newspaper as Treasurer, Muhammed Lawal of the News Agency of Nigeria as Vice Chairman, Hajiya Binta Aliyu of the Voice of Nigeria as Assistant Secretary, Zubairu Tatu of Authority Newspaper as Financial Secretary, and  Umar Faruk Abdullahi of Hausa Leadership as Auditor.

Adebayo urged the new executives to "be mindful of the NUJ constitution while directing the affairs of the chapel and to work towards promoting the interests of journalists in the state."
