Kebbi Governor Emphasizes Importance of Adhering to Specifications for Mosque Project

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has issued a stern warning to those overseeing the rehabilitation of mosques across the state, urging them to strictly adhere to project specifications to ensure quality work. The warning comes as part of the Kauran Gwandu Mosques Project 2025, which aims to refurbish 100 mosques across the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State.

A monitoring team led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Engr. Imran Bin Usman, has embarked on a statewide inspection tour to ensure compliance. The team's assessment began in Argungu Emirate, covering several local government areas and mosques, including Fingilla Mosque, Masallacin Garkar Shugaba, and Markaz Mosque.

Engr. Imran Usman emphasized Governor Idris' commitment to providing a conducive environment for worshippers and ensuring that places of worship are properly maintained. "This initiative is aimed at renovating mosques that have fallen into disrepair. Solar power installations and other essentials, such as tiling, will be provided to enhance the convenience of worshippers," he stated.

Usman also cautioned that any deviation from the required standards would attract consequences. Community leaders, including imams, village, and ward heads, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Idris for his commitment to preserving the sanctity of places of worship. They also pledged their continued support for his administration.

Among those who spoke in support of the governor's initiative were Abdulmumin Ibrahim Fingilla, Mallam Sha'ibu Usman Na’ibin Liman, and Sheikh Bello Umar Izala (Jos), who acknowledged the governor's efforts to promote the well-being of the Muslim community in Kebbi State.
