The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has begun the visa process for intending pilgrims, with the Director General, Alhaji Lamin Rabi'u Danbappa, reaffirming the Board's readiness to facilitate the process. Danbappa made this statement after a management meeting in his office, adding that the visa process officially kicked off on February 19, 2025.
Danbappa emphasized that the pilgrims' grouping system will continue as in previous years and called on all Directors of the Board to be aware of this. The Director of Hajj Operations, Alhaji Muhammad Ghali Muhammad, urged intending pilgrims who have not submitted their international passports to do so immediately, as visa processing has commenced.
According to Muhammad, the Board will collaborate with Local Government Hajj Center Officers to ensure that the pilgrims' grouping aligns with the instructions of the Saudi Arabian authorities. The Board has completed all necessary arrangements to ensure that no intending pilgrim is left behind.
This development comes as the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has allocated 4,356 Hajj seats to Kano State, which will be distributed across all local governments in the state. Intending pilgrims are required to submit eight passport-sized photographs, a valid international passport, and have a personal bank account for proper identification.
