Youth organizations under the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) have urged Alhaji Al-Faiz Muhammad Bello, popularly known as Akomonikeu, to contest for the Presidency in 2027. The youths, who gathered at the UPN office in Kobi street, Bauchi, described Al-Fa’iz as a strong advocate for both younger and older generations in Nigeria, and declared their unwavering support.
According to the group's leader, Abdulrashid Abimbola Abdulsalam, Al-Fa’iz embodies the change Nigeria needs. "This is the time for change. We need a youthful President like Al-Fa’iz Muhammad, who can make Nigeria live up to the dreams of our heroes past," he said. Abdulsalam pledged financial backing for Bello's campaign nationwide, emphasizing the need to break away from career politicians and outdated policies that do not benefit Nigerian youths.
The group encouraged Al-Fa’iz to remain patient and prepare for the challenge ahead, assuring him that his silence on the matter has only strengthened their resolve. "We are ready for him. No retreat, no surrender until we accomplish our goal, which is aligned with God’s will," they said.
Other speakers, Abdulmalik Dauda and Muhammad Kamal Abdullahi, praised Al-Fa’iz's leadership qualities, highlighting his wisdom, resilience, humility, and patriotism. These traits, they argued, set him apart from past leaders.
In response, Al-Fa’iz Mohammed expressed gratitude for their support and faith in his candidacy under the UPN. While noting that the time for formal politicking had not yet arrived, he assured the youths that he would not disappoint them. "I have heard you clearly and will not disappoint you. I have demonstrated my commitment in Kano, and the results are evident. By God’s grace, we will replicate this success for Nigeria," he said.
Al-Fa’iz also vowed to transform Nigeria, addressing the challenges brought about by the 16-year rule of the PDP and the current APC administration's economic policies, which he argued have left Nigerians struggling.
