Federal Ministry of Works Dismisses False Report on Contract Award for Abuja-Kaduna Road Project"

The Federal Ministry of Works has denied a report published in the Daily Trust Newspapers on January 21, 2025, claiming that Infoquest Nigeria Ltd was awarded a contract for the rehabilitation of a section of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road.

At a press conference held on January 21, 2025, the Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. Nweze David Umahi, described the report as "unwarranted, false, misleading, and damaging." He stated that the Ministry had no business relationship with In foqurest  Nigeria Ltd and that the company that has a contractual relationship with the Ministry on the said project is actually In forest International Limited.

The Minister demanded a public apology from Daily Trust Newspapers to be published in at least five national dailies for publishing falsehood against the Ministry of Works. He also alluded to recent publications by Julius Berger Plc, which he described as mischievous and deliberate misrepresentation of facts.

The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Barr. Mohammed Bello Goronyo, and the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Folunso O. Adebiyi, also spoke at the press conference, urging the media to always verify information before publishing and to uphold the truth in their professional duties.

The Ministry has urged the public and the press to join in the fight against national sabotage by some contractors.
