Tragedy struck the Kebbi State judiciary on Saturday as Hon. Justice Halima Aliyu Asabe, a respected High Court Judge in the state, passed away in Madina hospital in Saudi Arabia. According to reports, Justice Aliyu had been receiving treatment in the kingdom for some time before her demise.
The sad news of her passing was made public at around 5 pm Nigerian time yesterday, Saturday, sending shockwaves throughout the legal community and beyond. Before her appointment as a High Court Judge, Justice Aliyu served as a Magistrate Court Judge in Kebbi State. She later left the state to Abuja, where she continued to serve in the judiciary before returning to Kebbi State as a High Court Judge.
Justice Aliyu was a highly respected and accomplished jurist, known for her dedication to upholding the law and promoting justice in Nigeria. Her untimely passing has left a void in the judiciary and has sparked an outpouring of tributes and condolences from her colleagues, friends, and family.

Hon. Justice Halima Aliyu Asabe was a renowned jurist from Kebbi State, Nigeria. Born on May 10, 1961, in Yauri Local Government Area, she began her educational journey at Muh'd Bankono Primary School in Sokoto, where she obtained her primary certificate in 1973. She proceeded to Government Girls College in Bauchi from 1973 to 1979 and later attended Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, where she earned her LLB degree in 1985.
Throughout her illustrious career, Justice Halima Aliyu demonstrated unwavering dedication to the Nigerian judiciary. Her legacy as a respected figure in Kebbi State's judiciary remains.
