Birnin Kebbi - Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has warned Commissioners and Special Advisers to shape up or face the consequences.
Speaking at the Council Chamber, Government House, Birnin Kebbi, on Friday, Governor Idris emphasized the need for optimal performance from his appointees, shortly after signing the 2025 Appropriation Budget into law. He thanked members of the Executive Council for their support, while warning that underperformance would not be tolerated.
The governor specifically advised Commissioners to maintain a strong connection with their constituents, warning against making the state capital their permanent residence. He also vowed to conduct a performance appraisal after two years in office.
Similarly, Governor Idris issued a stern warning to Special Advisers, urging them to be responsive to the needs and grievances of their people. He emphasized that their appointments were made on behalf of their constituents, and therefore, they must be beneficial to them.
The governor's warning is seen as a clear indication of his administration's commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective governance.
