The Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, has conferred the traditional title of Gwarzon Daullar Usmaniya on Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Abdullahin Gwandu. This honor recognizes the governor's outstanding achievements in education, agriculture, health, and infrastructure development.
The conferment was communicated through an official letter sent to the governor via the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera. The letter, written by the Sultan himself, congratulated the governor on his well-deserved appointment and wished him Allah's guidance.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Nasir Idris expressed his joy and gratitude for the conferment of the title. He acknowledged the honor as a testament to the good cordial relationship between the state government and traditional institutions. The governor pledged to continue supporting traditional institutions and ensuring that their needs are met.
As part of his commitment, Governor Idris directed that the state government would cover the medical expenses of emirs whenever they travel for check-ups. He also highlighted the state government's recent purchase of new vehicles for the four first-class emirs in the state, which are of the same quality as his own vehicle.
The governor took the opportunity to thank the Sultan of Sokoto and the emirs for their contributions to good governance and for promoting the state's reputation at the national level.
