Orphans Fund Scam: PDP Demands Transparency and Accountability

Press Release

The Kebbi State Chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has called for public disclosure of the outcome of the committee set up by the state government to recover funds fraudulently removed from orphans' accounts disbursed by the World Muslim League. This demand follows the establishment of a committee by the Kebbi State Government to recover the stolen funds and return them to their rightful owners, as announced by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, on October 18th, 2025.

The PDP is seeking answers to critical questions regarding the recovery process, including:
- Has the recovery been made?
 - How much has been recovered?
- Who are the officials involved in the fraudulent funds removal?
- Has the recovered money been returned to the rightful owners?
- What punitive measures have been taken against the offenders?

The party emphasizes that the image of Kebbi State is at stake if the committee's findings and recommendations are not made public. Unless the outcome is disclosed, the culpability of some top administration officials may not be ruled out. The World Muslim League has consistently supported orphans in the state without any incidents of this nature occurring in previous disbursements.

The Sani Aliyu-led committee is urged to ensure transparency and accountability in their investigation to restore public trust. The PDP's demand for transparency is in line with global efforts to combat corruption and ensure that recovered funds benefit their intended recipients.

Signed,
Alh Sani Dododo Tambarin Gwandu
