The committee in charge of accommodations for the 2024 National Qur'anic recitation competition, led by Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Tungulawa, has conducted a tour inspection of the state Hajj Camp. The visit aimed to assess the accommodation arrangements for participants in the upcoming competition.
According to Alhaji Tungulawa, all 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will converge in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, from December 18 to 28, 2024. The competition will last for ten days, with each state expected to bring eight participants. A total of 296 participants are expected, and the committee has secured enough accommodation to cater to over 400 participants.
The state governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has appointed the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, as the main committee chairman. Governor Idris has also approved all necessary logistics and support for the committees, ensuring their success in hosting the competition.
The Honourable Commissioner expressed his committee's satisfaction with the accommodation arrangements and appreciated Governor Idris for his support. He prayed for a peaceful and successful competition, and sefe return of all participants and officials to their respective destinations.
