Kebbi Governor Approves N814.8 Million for Payment of Gratuity, Death Benefits to 417 Beneficiaries

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved the release of N814.8 million for gratuity and death benefits to 417 beneficiaries, including state, local government, and contract staff who disengaged between March 16 and April 15, 2024. This payment demonstrates the government's commitment to paying all gratuities as and when due, despite the nation's economic challenges.

The Breakdown of Beneficiaries and Payments: State Retirees 144 beneficiaries, including contract staff, will receive N388.1 million. Local Government Retirees 71 beneficiaries will receive N114.1 million. LGEA Retirees  72 beneficiaries will receive N131.7 million.
Equally, Beneficiaries with Pending Cases 130 beneficiaries with pending cases from previous years (2017-2024) will receive N180.8 million.

The payment process involved verification by the Kwaido- led committee and further scrutiny by the Office of the Head of Service, ensuring transparency and accountability . The Head of Service, Hajiya Aisha M. Usman, expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for his continued support to civil servants, both in service and in retirement.

This development aligns with the National Pension Commission's guidelines for the administration of gratuity benefits, aiming to provide financial security and stability to retirees.
