Federal College of Education Technical Yauri Takes Off: Principal Officers Pay Courtesy Visit to Emir of Yauri

Professor Sa'adu Umar, Provost of the Federal College of Education Technical Yauri, led the institution's principal officers on a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi CON, on Monday, October 21, 2024, in his palace in Yauri local government area. The Emir, a renowned traditional leader and Vice Chancellor Emeritus of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has been a beacon of iconic leadership in Yauri Emirate for over 25 years.

During the visit, Professor Umar informed the Emir of their readiness to begin the development process for the institution's takeoff, marking an exciting milestone for the college. The Emir's blessings and support will undoubtedly play a significant role in its success.

The inspection team also visited Government Day Secondary School Tondi to evaluate existing infrastructure and facilitate the development of a comprehensive master plan for the college. This critical assessment will inform the college's establishment and growth.

The Provost expressed heartfelt gratitude to key stakeholders who made the college's establishment possible, including the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris; the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi CON, a revered traditional leader and Vice Chancellor Emeritus of Usmanu Dan fodiyo University, Sokoto; the Minister of State for Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction, Rt. Honourable Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu; and members of the Yauri Emirate Community in Birnin-Kebbi and Abuja. This gesture acknowledges the collaborative efforts of government, traditional leadership, education stakeholders, and community associations in bringing the college to life.

The delegation comprised Provost Professor Sa'adu Umar, Bursar Dr. Yusuf Muhammad Alkali, College Librarian Hajiya Maimuna Mohammed Ahmed, Consultant for Master Plan TPL Shuaibu Abdullahi, Consultant for Academic Planning Dr. Yusuf Garba, Honourable Chairman of Yauri LGA Alhaji Abubakar Shuaibu, Maigirma Dangaladiman Gungu, contractors, and Site Engineer Zubairu Muhammad.

President Bola Tinubu recently approved the appointment of new members for the Governing Councils of six federal Colleges of Education, including the Federal College of Education (Technical), Yauri, Kebbi State.
