"Kebbi High Court Orders PDP, KESIEC to File Defense in 7 Days"

A Kebbi State High Court, presided over by Justice Maryam Abubakar Kaoje, has granted a motion exparte filed by Ibrahim Mohammed and 10 others, ordering the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bashar Isa Mohammed, and Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) to file their defense within 7 days of service.

The claimants had filed a pre-election matter challenging the defendants and sought an order abridging the time for filing processes, counter affidavit, and reply. The court granted the motion, ordering:

- Parties to file processes within a shortened timeframe
- Defendants to file defense within 7 days of service
- Plaintiff to file reply on point of law within 3 days
- Accelerated hearing of the substantive suit

The matter was adjourned to August 16, 2024.
