Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria-June 22, 2026 (Series News Online)-The Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has congratulated his Ekiti State counterpart, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his re-election for a second term in office.
In a press statement issued on Monday and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, Governor Idris described Oyebanji’s victory as a clear endorsement of his purposeful leadership and people-oriented policies.
“Governor Idris, on behalf of the Government and people of Kebbi State, rejoiced with Governor Oyebanji on his well-deserved victory, describing it as a clear endorsement of his purposeful leadership, people-oriented policies, and remarkable achievements during his first term,” the statement read.
Governor Idris noted that the overwhelming support received by Governor Oyebanji at the polls reflected the confidence of the people of Ekiti State in his ability to sustain developmental strides recorded under his administration.

The Kebbi State Governor further stated that the victory demonstrated that the All Progressives Congress, APC, remains the party of choice for the majority of Nigerians due to its commitment to good governance.
“Governor Idris further observed that the victory demonstrates that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the party of choice for the majority of Nigerians, owing to its commitment to good governance and the delivery of democratic dividends across the country,” he said.
He expressed confidence that Governor Oyebanji’s second term would usher in greater progress, prosperity, and development for the people of Ekiti State while strengthening democratic ideals.
“Governor Idris expressed confidence that Governor Oyebanji’s second term would usher in greater progress, prosperity, and development for the people of Ekiti State while further strengthening the ideals of democracy and good governance,” the statement added.
Governor Idris attributed Oyebanji’s success at the polls to his commitment to development and his efforts in addressing the challenges facing Ekiti residents.
“Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to development across all sectors of the state, as well as his efforts in addressing the challenges facing his people, gave him an added advantage in securing this victory,” Governor Idris said.
He concluded by praying for Governor Oyebanji’s success in his renewed mandate.
“Governor Idris prayed to Almighty Allah to grant Governor Oyebanji the wisdom, strength, and good health required to successfully discharge the responsibilities of his office and achieve even more landmark accomplishments during his renewed mandate,” the statement concluded.
