Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria, April 25, 2026 (Series News Online)- Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Saturday declared that the All Progressives Congress in the state is firmly aligned with President Bola Tinubu, citing what he called “unprecedented cohesion” within the party as a sign of support for 2027.
Addressing a mammoth unity rally convened by the APC at the Haliru Abdu Multi-Purpose Stadium, Idris described the gathering as a defining moment for the party in the state.
“Today marks a historic moment for Kebbi and for our party,” the governor told the crowd.
“I take great pride in the oneness displayed by our members and by the citizens of Kebbi,” he said.
“This solidarity is proof that Kebbi stands unwaveringly with the APC and with our national leader, President Bola Tinubu,” Idris added.
He maintained that the people of Kebbi remain loyal to the President, attributing their support to federal projects and social interventions being implemented in the state.
“We have solid grounds to stand with President Tinubu. His administration’s footprint is clear, and our people are witnesses to the strides made in the last three years,” the governor stated.
Idris reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deepen the legacy of former governors while initiating fresh development across Kebbi.
“We are strengthening the progress inherited from past governments and we will not relent in driving new development to every corner of Kebbi,” he said.
The governor revealed that party leaders and grassroots supporters had reached a consensus to endorse President Tinubu and his own government for another term.
“We have unanimously agreed to back President Tinubu and to ensure the continuity of this administration beyond the first tenure,” Idris said.
“With the APC’s visible record, we will not give room for anyone to misinform our people,” he added.
Earlier, Kebbi APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, said the rally brought together party members from all 21 local government areas, 225 wards, and more than 3,700 polling units.
“What you see here are genuine party loyalists from every part of Kebbi, not a sponsored assembly as witnessed elsewhere. The turnout is historic and underscores the APC’s deep roots in the state,” Kana-Zuru stated.
In his address, the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu, lauded the massive attendance and charged members to uphold the party’s democratic structures.
“Our party is guided by clear rules, which include primaries and consensus building,” Argungu said.
“Let us continue to follow these procedures in the emergence of our candidates,” he urged.
Also speaking, the State APC Women Leader, Hajiya Aisha Gunabi, pledged the unwavering support of women for the party’s success in the next electoral cycle.
“Women are decisive in winning elections. We stand fully with Governor Idris and will mobilise for every candidate approved by the party to guarantee victory in the 2027 general elections,” Gunabi said.
The rally was attended by several high-profile figures, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Atiku Bagudu; Sen. Adamu Aliero; Sen. Garba Musa Maidoki; Sen. Yahaya Abdullahi; and former Governor Alhaji Saidu Dakingari.
Also present were members of the House of Representatives, members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, members of the State Executive Council, and other APC stakeholders.
