Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria Jan 15,2026(Series News Online)— The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to making Kogi State a hostile environment for criminals, as it decorated 135 newly promoted officers and presented commendation letters to outstanding personnel.

Speaking at the ceremony in Lokoja on Wednesday, NSCDC Kogi State Commandant, Olumide Ebenezer Aletan, emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in the fight against crime and insecurity. "I am so delighted to have my people around me," he said. "You can see the synergy where the police, the military and other security agencies are here to celebrate the elevation of my personnel. It shows that we are together in the fight against criminals, and we are going to do it together."

Aletan warned criminal elements that security agencies would show no mercy, attributing the Command's successes to the support of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the strong leadership of the state government.

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, congratulated the promoted officers, saying their elevation was a recognition of their hard work and dedication. "They have been recognized for their hard work, and that is why they are promoted," he said. "We expect them to be more dedicated, more committed and more loyal to the Federal Government, and to do their best wherever they find themselves to make their agency and the nation proud."

Representatives of the military and paramilitary services also delivered goodwill messages, urging the newly promoted officers to maintain good conduct and view their elevation as a call to greater responsibility.

Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Abdullahi, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Corps for the confidence reposed in them. "We thank the Commandant-General of the NSCDC and the Kogi State Commandant for providing an enabling environment that made the promotions possible," he said. "We assure the Commandant-General, the State Commandant and Nigerians that we will justify the promotion through diligent, professional and fearless service."
