Senator Shehu Buba Umar, representing Bauchi South, has emphasized the need for closer collaboration between traditional rulers and political leaders to enhance security and foster development in the constituency.
Buba made this call during a visit to the newly created emirates established by the Bauchi State Government, where he reaffirmed his support and loyalty to the new Emirs.
"The responsibilities have increased, and there is a greater need for us to unite and strengthen our cooperation to ensure lasting security and meaningful development," Buba stated.
He commended the existing cordial relationship between his office and the traditional institutions, noting that their partnership had helped address issues such as minor kidnappings and other security threats.
The Senator congratulated the new Emirs and prayed for Allah's guidance as they discharge their leadership duties for the peace and progress of Bauchi South and the state at large.
The Emirs, including Alhaji Umar Adamu, Emir of Toro, Alhaji Ali Yakubu Lame, Emir of Lame, Alhaji Nura Adamu Jumba, Emir of Lere, and Alhaji Sulaiman Bala Sulaiman, Emir of Jama’a and Emir of Bununu, expressed appreciation for Buba's visit and pledged their commitment to work with stakeholders to promote peace, security, and socio-economic development.
"The visit is a demonstration of respect and partnership," said Alhaji Umar Adamu, Emir of Toro.
"We are ready to support government efforts in improving security and development across our domains," added Alhaji Ali Yakubu Lame, Emir of Lame.
