The Northern Youths of Nigeria has called on President Bola Tinubu to extend a presidential pardon to suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, in the interest of national security. The group made this appeal during a press conference in Kaduna, citing Kyari's contributions to curtailing kidnapping, banditry, and other crimes across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.
According to Comrade Sani Ibrahim Mainasara, National Chairman of the organization, "We believe that Abba Kyari has contributed immensely to curtailing kidnapping, banditry, and all other crimes across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria before his suspension. His efforts have been instrumental in protecting the lives and properties of citizens, and his suspension has been a significant loss to the nation."
Mainasara emphasized that Nigeria is currently facing a severe security crisis and needs individuals like Kyari to rescue the nation. "He has consistently demonstrated his commitment to protecting the nation and its citizens, and we believe that he should be given a second chance to continue serving the country," he said.
The group acknowledged that Kyari is not perfect but argued that his contributions far outweigh his mistakes. "We are not challenging the government or fighting against the suspension, but we are begging the President to consider Abba Kyari's performance and contributions to the nation," Mainasara pleaded.
The suspension of Kyari has sent a discouraging message to other potential recruits who may be interested in joining the Nigerian police force, according to the group.
