KADMAM Tasks Stakeholders on Effective Utilisation of ₦32.9bn BHCPF

The Maternal Accountability Mechanism in Kaduna Initiative (KADMAM) has praised the Federal Government's proactive approach to healthcare funding, highlighting the recent release of ₦32.9 billion under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) as a significant milestone.

This development underscores the government's commitment to bolstering primary healthcare infrastructure and services, particularly in underserved areas. KADMAM's Co-Chair, Garba Muhammad, emphasized the need for judicious utilization of these funds to ensure tangible benefits for the intended recipients.

The initiative has called on healthcare stakeholders, including Primary Health Care facilities, Ward Development Committees, and Local Government Health Authorities, to prioritize transparency and accountability in managing these resources. "The people deserve nothing but the best from their leaders," the statement stressed.

To guarantee the effective use of these funds, KADMAM plans to conduct spot checks under its OpenKadunaHealthSector initiative. This effort aims to track the flow and utilization of BHCPF funds at PHC facilities, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

The initiative has also urged citizens, civil society organizations, traditional leaders, and the media to join forces in monitoring the allocation and utilization of these funds. By working together, stakeholders can ensure that the intended benefits reach the grassroots level, ultimately enhancing the health and well-being of the people.
