"CNG Kebbi Blasts Plot to Blackmail Govt Over Nnamdi Kanu's Release, Commends Security for Swift Arrests"

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has condemned the planned protests demanding the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). In an interview with Comrade Engr. Mansur Isah Guruza, State Coordinator of CNG Kebbi, he described the planned protests as "a direct affront to Nigeria's sovereignty and judiciary."

According to Comrade Engr. Mansur Isah Guruza, "The planned protests are reckless, provocative, and a clear attempt to intimidate the judiciary and destabilize the country. We urge the Federal Government to see Nnamdi Kanu's trial to its logical conclusion, ensuring that justice is neither delayed nor diluted under political pressure."

The CNG had earlier issued a statement condemning the planned protests, describing them as "a danger to national security and stability." The group noted that Nnamdi Kanu's violent secessionist agenda had claimed over 1,200 innocent lives, including more than 400 security personnel, and caused the destruction of property worth over ₦450 billion across the Southeast.

Comrade Engr. Mansur Isah Guruza emphasized that the CNG would not sit idly by while individuals attempted to undermine the authority of the Nigerian state. "We demand an immediate investigation into individuals and organizations funding, coordinating, or promoting these destabilizing protests under the guise of human rights advocacy," he said.

The CNG has called on security agencies to remain alert and proactive in preventing any breakdown of law and order during the planned protests. The group also appealed to patriotic Nigerians, especially peace-loving citizens of the Southeast, to reject calls to anarchy and support genuine efforts toward development, peace, and unity.

In conclusion, Comrade Engr. Mansur Isah Guruza reiterated the CNG's commitment to defending the rule of law and national unity. "Nigeria must not bow to emotional blackmail. The law must take its course for without justice, there can be no peace," he said.
