In a notable ceremony, the Kogi State Police Command marked a major achievement on Tuesday, as Commissioner of Police CP Miller G. Dantawaye officiated the promotion ceremony of six senior officers, comprising five Assistant Commissioners of Police and one Superintendent of Police, following their recent elevation by Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The investiture took place at the Command Headquarters in Lokoja, with a diverse gathering of the Command's executive team, high-ranking officers, relatives, and supporters in attendance.
The promoted officers are ACP Aliyu Demba, ACP Mustapha Tijjani, ACP Ibrahim Jawi, ACP George Ekpe, ACP Kalu Nnana, and SP Margaret Idowu Ikheloa. During his address, CP Dantawaye emphasized, "Ascending to a new rank entails broader obligations. I urge you to maintain professionalism, dedication, and initiative in executing your responsibilities. Advancement is not merely a recognition, but a summons to elevated service and heightened expectations."
The Commissioner of Police further counseled the newly promoted officers, stating, "Utilize your new position to benefit others, rather than exploiting junior officers. Persist in serving with honesty and revitalized enthusiasm."
According to the police command, the promotions embody the IGP's strategy to reinforce the leadership framework and enhance the morale of Force personnel.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Kogi State, SP William Ovye Aya, verified the development, highlighting the command's dedication to professionalism and optimal service provision.
