Kebbi First Lady Receives Rotary Awards for Humanitarian Service

Lagos, Nigeria - The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has been honored with two prestigious awards by the Rotary Club, District 9111. The Humanitarian Award and Appreciation Award recognize her outstanding commitment to humanitarian service, compassion, and dedication to uplifting lives through various philanthropic initiatives.

The awards ceremony took place during the Rotary Club's installation ceremony of the new District Governor. The First Lady's presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, non-governmental organizations, and service-based institutions in addressing the needs of the vulnerable and promoting sustainable development.

In her remarks, the First Lady commended Rotary International for its decades of service and global impact, particularly in health, peacebuilding, and youth development. "These awards are not just a personal honor but a call to do more," she said. "I remain dedicated to expanding access to healthcare, education, and empowerment programs that bring real change to our people."

The First Lady expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club for the recognition and reaffirmed her commitment to championing causes that improve the lives of women, children, and disadvantaged communities in Kebbi State.

The wife of the Kebbi State Governor was accompanied by prominent dignitaries, including the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Associate Professor Halimat Muhammad Bande, State Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajiya Aishatu Muhammad Maikurata, and CEO of NASARA Foundation, Hajiya Balkisu Muhammad Nasir.

The event was attended by Rotary leaders, civil society stakeholders, government representatives, and members of the diplomatic community, underscoring the significance of the First Lady's recognition and the impact of her humanitarian work.
