"Kebbi Governor's Initiatives a Game Changer for Workers, Traditional Institutions" - Malami Shekare

Speakers at a gathering to mark June 12 Democracy Day at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday praised Governor Nasir Idris's initiatives, which have positively impacted the lives of workers and traditional leaders in Kebbi State. The event was attended by various stakeholders, including traditional leaders and government officials. The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim, represented Governor Idris, who is currently in Saudi Arabia performing this year's Hajj.

The Kebbi Head of Service, Malami Shekare, commended the governor's efforts to improve the welfare of workers. "The governor has eliminated casual employment and absorbed all casual workers into permanent and pensionable appointments," Shekare said. He also highlighted the completion of the ultra-modern Secretariat Complex, describing it as a significant milestone. "Governor Nasir Idris has completed the construction of the ultra-modern Secretariat Complex which is the best in the country for the optimum performance of civil servants," he added.

The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim, revealed that Governor Idris has executed 26 development projects under the ministry since assuming office. "Governor Nasir Idris has executed 26 development projects under the ministry since assumption of office," he said. This achievement demonstrates the governor's commitment to development and improving the lives of Kebbi State residents.

The District Head of Birnin Kebbi, Ubandoman Gwandu, Sadiq Sa'ad, expressed gratitude to the governor for prioritizing the welfare of traditional institutions. "Comrade Nasir Idris has renovated Palaces of traditional rulers, including those of District Heads and increased their financial clout," he said. Ubandoma also praised the governor for providing modern, state-of-the-art official vehicles to all four first-class emirs in the state. "He also provided modern state-of-the-art official vehicles to all the four first-class Emirs in the state, unprecedented in the history of Kebbi," he added.

These initiatives demonstrate Governor Idris's commitment to improving the lives of Kebbi State residents and promoting effective governance. The governor is expected to return to the state tomorrow, Friday, June 14, on the first flight from Saudi Arabia, which will land at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi.
