The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajia Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has been honored with the Inspirational Leadership on Grassroots Development Award at the 2025 International Women's Day Conference held in Dakar, Senegal. The conference, themed "Accelerate Action: A Call to Ignite, Empower, and Engage African Women for Transformative Realities," brought together influential women leaders, policymakers, and advocates from across Africa.
The award recognizes the First Lady's outstanding contributions to community empowerment and her tireless efforts to improve the lives of women, children, and vulnerable groups in Kebbi State through her initiative, the Nasara Women Development Foundation.
In her remarks, the First Lady expressed gratitude for the recognition, dedicating the award to the resilient women of Kebbi State. "I am humbled to receive this award, and I dedicate it to the resilient women of Kebbi State," she said. "I call on women leaders to remain steadfast in accelerating action for transformative change across the continent."

The award is a testament to the First Lady's dedication to improving the lives of women and children in Kebbi State. Through the Nasara Women Development Foundation, she has been working tirelessly to empower women and promote sustainable development in the state.
