FUBK Confirms Safe Rescue, Receipt of Abducted Student

The Federal University Birnin Kebbi has announced the safe return of its final-year student, Augustine Madubiya, who was kidnapped and later rescued unharmed by state security agencies. The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Sen. Umar Abubakar Tafida, accompanied by Commissioner of Police CP Bello M. Sani, handed over the student to Vice Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar at the university's council chambers.

"The success story can be attributed to the resilience of the State Governor and a firm directive issued to security agencies to take immediate action," Deputy Governor Tafida stated. Augustine Madubiya is currently receiving medical treatment and is expected to reunite with his colleagues soon.

Prof. Umar expressed deep appreciation to the government and security operatives for their swift response. "We sincerely appreciate the unwavering commitment of His Excellency Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris towards safeguarding lives and properties of all Nigerians residing in the state," he said.

The university authority commended the efforts of security agencies, particularly Commissioner of Police CP Bello M. Sani, for their role in the rescue operation. "The university praises the dedication and professionalism of our security agencies, led by CP Bello M. Sani, whose tireless efforts ensured Augustine's safe return," said Jamil Magaji, Head of Public Relations and Publicity at FUBK, in a statement made available to News Series Online on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi.

The rescue operation demonstrates the effectiveness of the state's security architecture and collaborative efforts between the government and security agencies. The university praised the governor's dedication to ensuring student safety and the overall security in the state.
