In a recent social media post, an individual seeking relevance launched a scathing attack on Shamsudeen Bala Muhammad, son of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, also known as Kaura. However, the post, filled with shallow reasoning and embarrassing innuendos, succeeded only in parading the author's ignorance clothed in arrogance.
"Silence, they say, is golden, but not when falsehood is flung about like confetti at a village carnival," Abdullahi Manu writes in his article. The post's attempt to drag Shamsu into a conversation born out of personal frustration and desperate clout-chasing has been met with criticism.
Manu argues that Shamsu's identity as the son of a political icon was not a choice, but destiny. What he did choose, however, was to forge his own path, serve with integrity, and build a reputation devoid of scandal or controversy. "This, by all measures, is commendable and speaks volumes more than social media theatrics ever could," Manu notes.
The article also highlights the achievements of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, citing his distinguished tenure in the Senate, groundbreaking six-year period as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and current term as Governor of Bauchi State. "These are feats backed not by slogans but by impactful facts that keyboard warriors cannot simply erase with bitterness and a smartphone," Manu writes.
Manu criticizes the post's baseless claim regarding a fictitious N70 billion scandal, stating that the EFCC and a competent court of law established the actual figure in contention was N8 billion. "Deliberately inflating figures to mislead the public is not only irresponsible; it reveals intellectual laziness and an agenda steeped in mischief," Manu argues.
The article concludes by urging individuals seeking to challenge Kaura's record or Shamsu's integrity to come with substance, not recycled slander. "When a man remains standing after being stripped of lies, it is not him who is naked; rather, it is you," Manu writes.
In a final remark, Manu notes that debates of intellect are not won through noise, but through clarity, facts, and reason. "If your only weapon in a debate is misinformation, then perhaps silence would have indeed served you better," he advises.
