Kano State Government Supports Journalists with 450 Bags of Rice for Ramadan

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kano State Council has received a generous donation of 450 bags of rice from the Kano State Government, aimed at supporting its members during the holy month of Ramadan. This gesture is part of the state government's efforts to enhance welfare support for journalists in the state.

According to the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, "this initiative marks the beginning of enhanced welfare support for journalists in the state." He also urged all journalists to remain united and cooperative in achieving common goals.

The Director General of Media and Publicity to the Executive Governor of Kano State, Comrade Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, represented the state government at the distribution ceremony, held at the NUJ Secretariat. He expressed appreciation for the journalists' cooperation with the government.

In response, the Chairman of NUJ Kano State Council, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, thanked the state government for the kind gesture. He assured that all efforts would be made to ensure that every member benefits from the distribution.

This donation is not an isolated incident, as the Kano State Government has a history of supporting its residents during Ramadan. Recently, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf distributed 120,000 bags of rice to Kano residents, in collaboration with Aliko Dangote.
