The Kebbi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned the defection of Hon. Salisu Garba Koko, Member representing Koko Besse and Maiyama Federal Constituency, from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the PDP Kebbi State Chapter, Hon. Koko's defection is a "shocking betrayal" and a "slap in the face" of the good people of Koko Besse and Maiyama Federal Constituency, who entrusted him with their mandate. The chapter views Hon. Koko's actions as "irresponsible and selfish," demonstrating a clear disregard for the welfare of his constituents.
The PDP Kebbi State Chapter also dismissed the reasons given for Hon. Koko's defection as "laughable," stating that there are no reported rifts within the PDP fold at both state and national levels. The chapter's Public Relations Officer, Alh. Sani Dododo, urged members, supporters, and sympathizers to remain calm and committed to the party's ideals.
The PDP Kebbi State Chapter is seeking legal redress to restore its mandate, with its team of lawyers currently compiling relevant documents to institute legal action against Hon. Koko, as stipulated in the Constitution. The chapter appealed to all Nigerians, particularly the good people of Koko Besse and Maiyama Federal Constituency, to remain steadfast in demanding pure democratic solutions to the nation's problems.
"We assure the public that the PDP remains committed to bringing the country back on track and promoting the general well-being of all citizens," Alh. Sani Dododo stated.
