Kebbi MULAN Gets New Excos, Urged to Take Their Place in Making Society Better

The Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN) has inaugurated 12 new executive officers in Kebbi State, with Ahmad Rufa'i Aminu ESQ emerging as the new chairman.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Rayhaan University Auditorium hall in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Speaking at the event, the National President of MULAN, Saidu Muhammad Tudunwada ESQ, represented by the National Publicity Secretary, Aminu Umar Kalgo ESQ, commended the outgoing executives for their dedication and service to the association.

Kalgo charged the incoming executive officers to work hard in moving the Kebbi Branch of MULAN forward, ensuring possible collaboration with relevant bodies and stakeholders in carrying out their activities within and outside the state.

"I charge the officers to be inaugurated here today to have this in mind and advance the course. While I commend the outgoing officers for giving their best, I conclude with the prophetic tradition that says, 'Whosoever among you sees an abomination (evil) he shall correct it with his hand, if he cannot (beyond him) with his voice, if he cannot, then with his mind (hate it in his mind) and that is the weakest form of faith,'" Kalgo said.

The outgoing Chairman of MULAN, Kebbi State Branch, Yusuf Hamza ESQ, highlighted the achievements of his administration and tasked the incoming executive officers to redouble their efforts in making more successes.

"I congratulate and wish the new executives well, and I thank my outgoing executives for their hard work and achievements. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors," Hamza said.

The new executive officers inaugurated are: Chairman, Ahmad Rufa'i Aminu ESQ; Secretary, Muhammad Usman; Vice Chairman I, Atiku Abubakar ESQ; Vice Chairman II, Farida Muhammad; Publicity Secretary, Iliyasu Ibrahim Adamu; Treasurer, Yusuf Muhammad; Welfare Secretary, Nana Asma'u; Financial Secretary, Faruku Saidu Maigishiri; Assistant Financial Secretary, Munirat O. Yahaya; Assistant Secretary II, Sambo Habibu; and Auditor, Abubakar Muhammad Ahmad.

In his remarks, the Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Hon. Justice Umar Abubakar, tasked the new executive officers to be diligent and hardworking in achieving the aims and objectives of MULAN. He also promised to continue supporting MULAN and other relevant associations operating within the state.

The event featured a lecture on "Artificial Intelligence in Nigeria: Legal Aspects, Challenges, and Benefits to the Ummah," delivered by Professor M. L Ahmadu, Vice Chancellor of Rayhaan University, Birnin Kebbi.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by high-profile dignitaries and invited guests from Sokoto and other parts of the country, including the Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Hon. Justice Umar Abubakar, Hon. Justice Hassan Muhammad Kwaido, Hon. Justice Muhammad Nuruddeen, Hon. Kadi Atiku Muhammad Bello, and Professor M. L Ahmadu, Vice Chancellor of Rayhaan University, Birnin Kebbi.

 Other notable attendees included Solicitor General Aishatu Abbas, Hon. Justice Lauratu J.  Suru, Hon. Justice Hassan Shehu Kuwa, Hon. Justice Shamsudeen Jaafar, and Hon. Justice Halima Ibrahim Umar.
